It's natural so that color is not very strong, even when left overnight. Good for more subtle designs, freckles, or experimenting, but do not get this for dark designs.
I really like the highlights. Covers my gray hair in my roots.
I use henna powder for hair coloring for more than 10 years. This henna powder is the best I’ve seen! It’s my 3rd or 4th purchase and I’ll buy more.
I am using this product for 2 years now . It gives dark orange shade to great hair. So far so good . Would recommend this product.
I use this for my hair and haven't had any issues. I've been using only this brand with some hibiscus, amla, cream of tartar and fenugreek for almost a year now and my hair looks great. Tried it just plain the first time and had a good color deposit. I can't compare it to another brand but this is a good price and works well for my hair.
Amazing! clean and fresh.
Henna colored very well. I used it to color my dark blonde/mousy hair and it lasted for MONTHS. I mean I looked ginger for 6 months and reddish for nearly 6 months after that (which was great in my opinion)!

We have tried many brands, this is by far the best for hair color!
The person I purchased this was very excited to try it. But when we received the product it was already expired. The henna we received was past it's experation date by three months. I would normally let something like this slide and give the benefit of the doubt. But when you're buying something that is natural, shelf-life is important, so for us this was a disappointment. There was another buyer that had a similar review with experation dates around the same time so it could be that it was just this henna batch with the problem. This review doesn't reflect the actual henna and it's performance as we did not use the powder and the product was returned before opening.
Excellent for coloring hair. Gave me a beautiful red tone!! Careful how much you get on the scalp.... turns that red also!!
Very good quality, my mom liked
Received my henna in the mail today 10/10/18 and it’s expired!
My henna is over two weeks old so its faded, but this is my first time making my own henna and I think it's amazing! Will definitely be my go to buy :)
Worked well, used it for tattoo henna, not as red as some of the others but the tone is pretty and it worked well for my purposes
I use this product every two weeks.
Use for henna tattoos
It says on the package that it is strictly for hair and not to be used on skin. When I bought it, I was under the impression that it could be used on skin.
Works amazing for hennas, I did find that letting it freeze overnight and then using it the next day helped with making the henna darker and last longer
This product is great for people with curly/ coily hair that want a gentle and nutrient rich protein treatment. My hair type is fine, 3c/4a low to medium porosity hair with normal and medium high density. I have been using this product mixed in with moisturizing conditioners for protein treatments. I mix up the product, apply to freshly shampooed hair in sections, cover with a plastic bag and sit with a bonnet dryer on my head for about 20 to 25 minutes at least once every two weeks. I have noticed a huge improvement and change in my hair since I began these treatments. My hair is normally sensitive to protein but I believe that this treatment has helped to increase my hair’s porosity from low to more of a medium or normal porosity now that it is not sensitive to this treatment. When I wash it out my hair is super silky and strengthened. In the crown of my head I received breakage after trying to use baking soda from the curly girl method. I had to cut off inches of hair and that part has been much shorter than the rest of my hair. Since the beginning of the year I can see I have retained a lot of length and I can attribute it to using a cassia gloss (deep conditioner+cassia) on a regular basis. If you struggle with breakage or thinning hair, deep conditioning at least once a week will make a huge difference. Try it at least for 6 months!
This is a great product.
This brand of henna does NOT work! Followed the instructions, left on for 3 hours, No result Does not cover grays at all
Excellent product, I've been using since one year. I'll recommend buying this product.
I love this product and am pretty upset that I cannot get without paying double what I paid last month. I use indigo to mix in from the same company. I have had so many compliments on my hair color. I order every other month. I ended up ordering from a different company hopefully it is just as good
My hair took the henna exx
I used this product to condition my hair. I have been using natural henna for that purpose for a number of years. Unfortunately this brand turned my hair a brown color. In particular the portions that are gray. Very unhappy with this product.
This is the first henna powder I've used and I'm extremely happy with the results. The powder is super fine and stains extremely quickly. I will definitely be buying again and I'm excited to try using it to dye my hair.
Makes my hair a shine with a hint of red. Love everything about it, except the smell, which thankfully goes away
This is a very bright red henna. This quantity will probably last me a year. I'd say it's pretty good quality.
this works very well on African American hair. i used it overnight like i do any henna. nice red color on my grays. Which is perfect for my transition to indigo. that will make my hair jet black. This was 70% cheaper than my other brand.
Exactly as described. Really good for hair.
Very good product with great results. Some of the best henna I have used.
This henna is great-- it's pure, organic and easy to use. I strongly recommend it!
I began to see and feel amazing results almost instantly
I first bought a henna kit at Joanns and it was so bad I decided to give it another try and just order the powder instead. I have the other ingredients on hand anyway... this stuff is amazing! I have so much left that this bag will last me maybe a year. When I prepare the mix for the tattoo and I have it left over, I put it in the refrigerator and I have found that it lasts a while so you can always do more tattoos
The henna powder arrived just like pictured and described. It worked great!
Great Henna, nice color and made my hair shiny and healthy! Just placed my third order and will continue in future....
Awesome product! All natural and great color/hue.
Nice product. Low odor. Fast shipping. My hair looks and feels great. Thanks!
Great quality henna I am very pleased with my purchase.
This worked perfect for my DIY hair growth oil!
I naturally have dark brown hair, so I did not expect much of a color change. With this product, I obtained a very nicely burnished reddish brown color. Here's the method I used: I mixed three heaping spoonfuls of the henna powder with warm, nearly hot water. The resulting paste was pretty thick, not runny at all. I covered the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for about four hours; the color turns brownish orange. Two friends helped me apply it with cheap watercolor brushes. I put on a shower cap and waited for three hours before rinsing everything out. I believe the longer you wait, the deeper the color gets. I used lots of a cheap conditioner to help rinse all the (by-then sticky) goop out. My hair feels very nice and even a bit stronger now. I plan to repeat this every three months or so.
Very good for dying my hair to red.
Love it onmy hair worked perfectly!!!
Was pleasantly surprised by this henna! I mixed 2 bags but ended up only needing one (but that's ok bc you can freeze henna!) It made my dark brown hair pretty dang red, even a little purple-ish in the sun, and it also dyed all the wiry whites in my husband's beard! I mixed with warm ACV (apple cider vinegar) to get a thick mashed potatoes consistency, covered the bowl and let rest in a warm place for about 6 hours (test dye release on palm of hand or sole of foot). Thinned it out with warm water after dye release and applied generously, cover in saran wrap and wrap head in towel (i used a beanie) to keep warm. Husband's beard sat 2 hours and my hair sat 3 hours. Rinse out with conditioner only! Wait a couple days to wash. (I waited next day and then did indigo over it to get black).
It was better than expected it, the color was great, easy to make the henna paste, my clients were very happy their designs lasted more than a week some more than two on their skin and I loooove it! Delivery was on time, I Would highly recommend and I would definitely buy it again!!
So cheap and beautiful color. ..... is it scary to die your hair with henna the first time? Yes. (I read that you have to let the chemical dye wash out for a few months or the combo of henna and the chemicals will ruin your hair). I read that it will stain clothes, it does. It's a little time consuming to dye your hair with henna. However, my hair is super shiny and it isn't as sensitive to humidity as it used to be. It seems easier to keep a curl with a curling iron or rollers. It takes about two hours. You mix it with water to the consistency of ketchup and put in your hair. To get even color,,, I'd suggest using a coloring brush,, to make sure all roots are colored. You wrap your head in saran wrap (while wearing your ugly clothes). However, a bag lasts about 6 months and I can touch up my roots whenever I want. Warning. If you previously dyed your hair darker than it really is,,, you will have slightly different shades at the top of your head and over the previously colored hair. This evens out with time,,, but something to know. I otherwise would have brown hair with a third of grays. After dying with henna, the grays do not behave like grays. You do have to used a lot of conditioner the first couple times after you dye your hair.
Very potent quality and good packaging or later usage.
This made my hair very soft and shiny. It has covered my grays, looks like highlights on my dark hair. One thing I like this henna - no grainy texture and no drips at all.
didn't color my hair. My grey persists. Did not come with instructions. I googled instructions for mixing with ACV and followed to the letter. I contacted the seller and was told I "added too much ACV". Waste of my money
This henna is a good price because you get double what others sell for the same price. I’m not sure why some are saying that it didn’t add any color or that it dried out their hair. It added a lot of color to my hair and made it soft. It also covered my grays after leaving it on under a plastic cap for four hours. My daughter who has no gray left it on for two hours and had great results. The only thing I noticed is that when we wash our hair about the first five times, we still have some of the color coming off on our towels. It did come off the towels when we washed them.
It works great with a mixture of the indigo powder!
I use this henna by mixing it with hot water overnight in a huge batch, then use ketchup bottles to freeze the leftovers in, which is supposed to help release the dye and is super convienient. I get compliments all the time and my hair is finally healthy and growing long again.
I received the henna although I have not used it yet, but I love it
This worked very well! I've used henna for years and this is nice and finely sifted. The color comes out a good red. The only downside is I didn't like the bag it comes in, it didn't want to reseal so I have to put the whole thing into another baggie.
From what I understand, henna powder that stains really well is supposed to be green in color. This powder was on the brown side, and as expected- didn’t really stain my hair too well. It definitely did something but it dulls in comparison to other henna powders I’ve used for dying my hair.
It very good. Love it
I purchased this product to make with my fenugreek hair oil. Henna was one of the ingredients. I noticed my hair color is changing due to the henna but don't think I will be dying it no time soon. I definitely noticed some change with the henna and other products I purchasesd
My hair love henna, and I can't say enough about the benefits it provides.
Not good for tinting.
This is the only Henna I have used. It works great! I only leave it to sit on my roots with a egg/henna gloss for 45 min (That's as long as I've ever left it to sit) I did all my hair properly the first time about 6 months ago. Love it!
Great for your hair.
It's the most pure form of henna and the price is reasonable
Had me at triple-sifted...rinses out of my afro-textured hair so effortlessly. Hope to buy again, love it!
This item was a disappointment
Great quality product!
works wll, as I expected.
Fast delivery, excellent quality henna that gave my hair wonderful redish glow !
I’m very happy because this kind is the best for me.Thank you so much
Quality henna, great price, gives a rich red color to your hair.
Totally failed to give any color on my gray hair. I left it for 5 hours but there was no color. Just wasted my money as well as my times. Not buying it again.
Loved how my hair felt after using this mixed with other ayuredic products.
Good packaging worked good but didn't see much color change
I mix this with amla powder and it seems to have stopped my shedding. It's really messy though and doesn't smell that great even with my conditioner added. It really broke up my dandruff and it was flying everywhere especially with the windows down in my car. However, I just did a wash and go. My sister tried it and she brushed out her dandruff, leaving no traces. All in all, it did what it was supposed to.
Nice love it
I loved it. I used three spoon because my hair is long. I left it on my hair for 4 hours and wash it with water only the color I got was dark brown to red I love it. I will definitely buy more.
I got a great stain out of this. I make my own henna paste and I got a stain that lasted for 4 weeks out of this after leaving the paste on for about 4 hours.
Good product. Highly priced.
This product came as a dual pack. I kept one because I opened it and returned the other. My hair was dry, lifeless and very hard.
Well... I got this to do a hair gloss to repair hair shafts after thyroid damage and mixed with a hair treatment. I knew there would likely be a tint but I did not mix for color activation, I mixed with a deep conditioner per doing a gloss. To dye you usually let sit on your head for 4 hours to overnight after letting mixture activate hours in advance. This was on 30-45 minutes with immediate mixture. Ugh. Leave it to my weird hair to suck the color up immediately. Oh well, at least it is pretty. I am now Merida from Brave
It dried my hair out . Will never use again.
I henna my hair for health. I mixed a bit of this with Cassia Obavata and it is not mild. Use less than a teaspoon if you are touching up, or covering your grays, looking for the blonde affect. It takes an extremely small amount to produce the orange-like color. You may want to make sure you have your Amla handy when mixing henna with your Cassia Obavata to tone down the orange-red affect. But, I like this product. The package is resealable. So, that works for my purposes. It's a good product for the price. I recommend it.
this one is good but felt little expensive
Broke me out not natural I used a different one before without any side effects now I'm itchy
I've used this three times to dye my hair and it's turned out brilliantly each time.
The shipping was quick. The henna appears to be pure, not mixed with grit like others I've ordered online. I mixed it with plain water and then immediately used it on my hair. My hair is brown with a fair amount of grey, and after maybe 75 - 90 minutes, both brown hair and grey were colored nicely. It doesn't have the strong smell of other hennas and it rinses out easily. It didn't seem to be uniformly a powder but instead had some larger leaf pieces mixed in. Fine for hair but I imagine not good for tattoos. When mixed with water, the texture is surprisingly slimy, unlike other pure hennas I've used. But this is loads better than the last couple of supposedly pure hennas I've ordered from other companies. I will order it again!
I wanted the henna for a hair treatment however, I realized I should of purchased the body art grade henna instead.
This is my millionth time ordering this henna powder and its always great quality and I get good stains.
Really worried that my medium fine brown hair would end up orange. Not the case. I used it as listed but I added a double shot of coffee. My hair is gorgeous. A nice medium brown with a very slight redish color on my grey hair. It' looks like hightlights. I really like the look and feel. I'm never going back to commercial chemical hair color again.
Didn't add any color to hair
I feel I got good color from this brand on both hair and skin. Happy customer!
This is a very good henna. It is a bit messy to use but as bad as I was expecting. It effeminately covered over my gray hair but it made the gray hair quite bright red, which I wasn't quite expecting. It left my hair quite soft and I'm happy with the product, I'll keep using it.
V good product
My hair feels more nourished, and has incredible sheen.
I've used multiple brands of henna and so far this is my second favorite (Mountain Rose Herbs is still #1). I mixed up the henna with a hibiscus tea (mostly to improve the scent) in the early afternoon and let it develop until before bed. Slathered my hair in the muddy concoction, put on a plastic shower cap and went to bed. Did a mermaid soak and rinse in the tub before my normal shower to loosen the mud and make it easier to rinse out. Super simple. The dye activated really nicely and my medium brown hair is now a lovely red (it'll lose the orangeness in a couple washes). The henna powder was nicely milled, very fine with no sticks or leaves. The bag is enough to treat my shoulder length fine hair probably three times. I froze the mix that didn't get used, so I'll update my review when I use thaw the frozen henna to reflect those results. All in all, I'm definitely happy with this purchase and will be buying it again. (hadn't brushed my hair in the photo, sorry about that lol)
My mother used it for dying her hair, she loved it
I followed one of the reviewer's advice and used plastic wrap on my head - came out really well.
I was really impressed with the strength of this product, and actually found the process a lot easier than the previous henna I had purchased at Lush. There is no melting involved, and doesn't have to be used right away (in fact letting the mixture sit to oxidize is recommended). The color is also very powerful (even after mixing with black tea) and I could see some highlights in my very dark (almost black) hair. On a side note, the mixture has not stained any of my pans/bowls as of yet. How I used the powder: mixed powder with black tea (to darken the red) and a squirt of lemon juice (to help the oxidation process) and let sit overnight or least six hours. The mixture will look like brown pudding when ready. I covered my ears, hairline with vaseline or balm to prevent staining and applied mixture goop to hair, then covered with a throwaway shower cap for 4 hours. I then rinsed out the mixture leaning over the tub (to prevent staining body) with a handheld shower head before showering (washing hair twice). The smell is strong and Earthy but not necessarily horrible, and will fade with each wash. The color payoff per powder amount makes it a great value, and better than previous products I've used.
Great product. Delivered very quickly. Highly recommend.
Got this for my hair. Henna was a big scary step but I've been happy ever since I did. My hair is so much healthier now. No more dry scalp. No more expensive hair salon visits for color that never lasted.
This is good work!
The product is very effective, works very nicely on gray or light brown. Satisfy with the product.
Worked as expected
This was the worse henna l have ever used, it did not do anything for my hair or cover my grey
The quality is good, and it arrived as stated. It was packaged well and there is more than expected. Thanks
I may have gotten a bad batch, but it appears the seller put a new sticker over the old expiration date.
I recommend this brand. Product arrived by expected date and packaged nicely. The powder is very fine and has been sifted to remove extra debris that is normally found in other natural hennas. Does has has a slight earthly smell but that is expected of natural hennas. Worked well for coloring my hair.
Just as described
Great quality Henna Powder. Not complicated. You can smell the freshness.
Great product! Henna is the way to go!
FANTASTIC JUST WAITING 3 HOURS TO SET
This henna did a great job on coloring my hair. I have natural auburn hair, but as I got older, it got darker and has been starting to turn gray. I mixed 1/4 cup henna, with 1/2 cup of warm water and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, allowed it to sit overnight at room temperature. Make sure when you mix it that you get all the lumps out.I applied it one small section of hair at a time and coiled the sections on my head with bobby pins. Once it was all through my hair I wrapped plastic wrap around my head twice, then put on a shower cap, and tied a grocery bag or that. It keeps the henna moist which is important because you have to keep it on your hair for 4-5 hours for good results and also helps keep it off the furniture. I have very long hair so I used a silicone applicator brush. Make sure you have cotton balls and 70% or stronger rubbing alcohol on hand to wipe it off of your skin so it doesn't leave a stain. Where a plastic cape or make a plastic shirt from a garbage bag. I t rinsed out of my hair very easily too. It really brightened up my hair beautifully and covered all of my gray, too.
Wonderful quality and I use it in my homemade deep conditioners.
For a light-colored henna I was surprised at the depth of color provided. I mixed it with organic apple cider vinegar and let it sit for 48 hours before using it. It worked well. I left it on overnight
UPD: I'm changing my review because when I opened the last packet they sold me, there was no henna there, just some vaguely herbal brown powder. When I mixed it with water, it turned dark brown but without any orange tinge, and when I dipped a cotton ball in it, the brown stain washed away cleanly without leaving any color on it. This is not henna. I wish I could get a refund, but I bought this product a while ago, so no suck luck. Won't be buying any of their stuff anymore. Pity, this is the second merchant that did that to me, I guess they don't really care about quality control and keeping their customers. (Previous review) Wonderful product, colors as expected (I use it with indigo for intense black color) and hair feel wonderful afterwards. The color is a bit more toward red than orange, but for my purposes it's perfect.
Totally worthless henna. Tried coloring my grey but it barely did after keeping it for more than 4 hours. To give benefit of the doubt, I tried it the 2nd time too but a total waste of time & money. There are so many local Indian store brands that do a better job for half the price.
Work well for me
Terrible henna. Used this for my hair. Nothing would activate the dye. It made my difference to my hair
Very good results with no mess in my hair
The bag was torn or has a hole, I have not used it as yet
good henna for trying out
I used this to dye my hair in a mixture with indigo and it worked really well. I feel confident the product I received was pure, i.e. there was no seperation/reactivity with the tea I used to activate the dye. This is a product I will buy again if the quality is maintained. One not so great thing is that the bag doesn't re-seal like it should. The zipper gets filled with powder and the plastic doesn't have room to clinch back together to seal the rest of the henna in. But, I would say it's not a bad tradeoff for such a good product :)
Absolutely perfect! Works wonders as a hair dye.
This is the first time I used this brand's indigo. I mixed it fifty fifty with henna and the result made me more than happy. I mixed the henna with water and lemon juice the previous night and added the indigo in the morning. Kept the mixture on my hair for four hours. Definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to stay away from the chemical dyes and wants to have a nice reddish-brown hair color.
Tried to make some henna tattoos with this, but it didn't work. I'm not sure if it's just not fresh enough or what, but I was really looking forward to it. It didn't smell anything like the henna paste I used last time either once I mixed it. Didn't try to dye my hair with it, so I can't vouch for how well it works with that. Maybe I just didn't make it properly, but I followed the recipe as well as I could. Overall, it didn't work for me, and I wouldn't recommend it. I received this at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Love it Will order again
